MADRE CHIESA - SAINT CRISTOFORO

The Cathedral of Valguarnera Caropepe is the town's Mother Church (Madre Chiesa) that is dedicated to Saint Cristoforo, the patron saint of the town. As you can see from its Romanesque style facade below, the Church was built in the 17th century. It was dedicated in 1630, only 2 years after the town was officially founded in 1628.
